Our mission at Southeast Welding Academy is to offer quality education in an effort to produce "World Class Welders". Southeast Welding Academy will train students with skills, knowledge and workplace attitudes essential to enter the workforce as dedicated and competent employees. With over 30 years of experience in the welding industry in Metal Pipe Welding, Basic Shielded Metal ARC Welding, Advance Welding, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, and Gas Metal ARC Welding . At Southeast Welding Academy we exceed industry standards. Program options include Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Basic Pipe Welding, Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Advanced Pipe Welding, and Oxy-Fuel Cutting.

WHAT IS WELDING?
Welding is a skilled trade and fabrication process that uses heat, pressure, or both to fuse materials—most often metals—into a strong, permanent bond. Unlike other joining methods, welding creates a unified piece with strength equal to or greater than the original materials, making it essential in industries such as construction, manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace.
WHAT IS A WELDER?
A welder is a trained professional who uses specialized equipment to join metal parts together through the process of welding. Welders work with heat, flame, electricity, or pressure to fuse materials, creating strong, durable structures used in construction, manufacturing, transportation, and many other industries. They combine technical skill with safety practices and precision to produce reliable, high-quality work.

Message From Founder
As the founder of SEWA, my journey began over 25 years ago in the field—leading and managing large-scale welding projects with passion and purpose. Over time, I noticed a growing gap: a shortage of minority-skilled, qualified welders ready to enter the workforce. Rather than simply observe the problem, I was moved to be part of the solution.
That’s why I started SEWA—not just a school, but a mission & a movement. Our goal is simple but powerful: to provide high-quality, hands-on welding education at a fair price, empowering students to build strong careers and brighter futures. Here, we don’t just teach a trade—we pass on a legacy of craftsmanship, confidence, and opportunity. Our approach builds bridges, not barriers to education, training and success.
